I have a 2007 C4 Grand Picasso 1.6hdi which all of a sudden has started bleeping at me. I receive warning lights for ASR Fault, Handbrake Fault, ESP Fault, and the service light is on. The brakes continue to work fine and the car is driveable but the handbrake has to be operated manually.
I've got a C4 Picasso 1.6 HDi BMP 2008. Every time I power it up it displays "PARKING BRAKE FAULTY" and after a while "ESP / ASR FAULTY". Still everything works except for the automatic parking brake application and the service light is illuminated. The only fault code that the ESP has is "ESP8.1 No communications with the engine management ECUOperating the switch will "awaken" the control unit from its sleep mode. If brake release is requested, or if brake apply is requested and the brake is already applied, the control unit will ignore the request but illuminate the parking brake light on the instrument panel. It will then go back to sleep when the switch is released.
