Avoid Chrysler brand products, Acura all the way. RDX is quicker, better handling, better mpg, higher safety rating, longer warranty, and most likely will be more reliable in the long term. The JGC is a smidge bigger (mainly cargo room), can tow more, can off-road better, and depending on the model will probably handle slippery conditions better.

The 4.0 is an outstanding engine and you can trick out these rigs to handle some serious off-road. I consider XJ's to be very reliable and they get pretty good MPG.
