Not only is this a good setting for those who prefer to use it, it also fixes what I presume to be a bug where turning the camera with left-click gets "stuck." 1 and 2 are redundant. If players can mount in combat they'd just keep spamming the more powerful dismount attack and re-mounting instead of settling for a less powerful attack that can be used without dismounting you. 3. would have to use skills other than F1-3 since those are already used by most professions.

If you got a guildie or anyone you know at 80 you don't need to be lvl 80 to get the mount. You can do the first PoF mission if you're in their party when they start it and you'll unlock the raptor before the end. No need to boost.
While you can use waypoints to travel quickly between regions and explorable zones, mounts are the best and fastest way to get to where you want to go—especially if where you want to go is high in the air, in unfriendly waters, on the other side of a big canyon, or concealed from mortal eyes by centuries of magics.
JustTrogdor.7892. You will have to do at least the intro story of PoF to get your first mount, the raptor. That should be done on a L80 character and doesn't take that long. Once you unlock the raptor, and the other mounts in the future, they will be available to all of your characters from then on.
19. Posted October 14, 2017. Mounts would completely break WvW. The engage would be even less of problem than the movement skills. Raptors would outrun every enemy, springers could just jump on walls instead of using the actual entrance and griffons would be even worse.
