mikeswi. If you do it before Green Sabre, you'll lose all your turf anyway because of the way the story plays out. If you do it after the "Riot" mission, it'll be nearly impossible to take over turf. According to an FAQ on it, the best time to take turf is either after "Grove 4 Life" and before "Riot". Or wait until after "End of the Line" at San Fierro doesn't have gang territories normally but you can get mods that let you do gang wars there since I believe it was cut from the game but the files still exist. Oddly enough though I think there's a glitch where you can take over territories outside of LS but I don't think you actually have to fight any gangs. 1. Based on my experience in the game, having a hood attacked is a random event that can occur at any time. This seems to be supported by the wiki: the random factor of territories coming under attack (which may occur while the player is engaged in another activity).
